The parish will be conducting an outreach for more catechists to engage in our various catechetical ministries on Saturday, 8 and Sunday, 9 September 2018. Please pray about answering this fundamental call to follow Christ and make disciples by serving the young people of our parish.

Approach us after Masses on that day, to indicate your interest or start a conversation with any of our catechists at the Place of Gathering.

“Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation” – Mark 16:15

In the parish of St Ignatius, there are various opportunities and platforms where we can serve to develop our children’s Faith Formation. We are a team of about 80 Catechists/Assistants and administrators volunteering every weekend to support and guide the children and youth in our programme towards encounter and relationship with God.

What we do

Our calling is to facilitate and nurture our children’s experience of the Love of Jesus Christ through:

• Continually sowing the seeds and promoting the knowledge of our Faith, teaching our children to pray and to discern
• Serving as good role-models for their Christian formation
• Enabling our children to grow and to ultimately serve meaningfully in our community

We are  always looking for dedicated individuals to join our ministry.

If you are:

• A disciple of Christ who is willing to be trained in the craft of catechesis
• Desiring to learn more about the Catholic faith and to grow deeper in your faith & spirituality
• Interested in evangelising children and young people
• Teachable, patient, caring, prayerful, and respectful of young persons

We are in need of:

• Catechists
• Assistant catechists
• Parent volunteers
• Administration assistants
