Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
CGS is an approach to the religious formation of children. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori.
Children gather in the "Atrium," a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use. The children learn about the life of Jesus and the liturgy of the Church with the use of many sensorial materials, including figures of Biblical persons and characters, a relief maps of Israel and its cities, a model altar, priestly vestments and a baptismal font. Through the sessions, the children fall in love with and develop a personal relationship with Jesus, the Good Shepherd and effortlessly absorb the teachings of the Church.
Who we are
The CGS programme has a team of rigorously trained catechists running Kindergarten, Primary 1, 2 and 3 sessions at the Atrium. Children are welcome from the year they turn four. The year they turn nine (Primary 3), they are prepared for First Confession and First Holy Communion.
ALL LEVELS FOR 2017 ARE NOW FULL.
